About Education
Based on the works of Welsh composers, Tŷ Cerdd's classroom resources are strongly rooted in Curriculum Cymreig, and have been developed in response to teachers for new Welsh music resources to enrich musical activity in their schools.
Our classroom resources do not form a scheme of work; they simply make Tŷ Cerdd's resources accessible to schools throughout Wales and beyond. They are intended to enhance the Welsh dimension in exisiting schemes, and be user-friendly to non-musicians whilst providing music specialists with Welsh music resources unavailable elsewhere.
Tŷ Cerdd's resources are suitable for teaching through topic in combination with a variety of other subjects, and complement the Skills Framework for 3 - 19-year-olds in Wales. They can be delivered as single class, stand-alone music lessons or widened to whole-school cross-curricular projects.
